I know some of you are probably sick to the back teeth of hearing about LFW right about now, but this post was requested a few times and I actually wanted to do it myself so I thought, bugger it. One more can’t hurt right?
I wanted to put together a kind of round up post to talk about the trends I spotted at LFW and rather than talking about the styles on the catwalk, I’m talking about street style. I know the catwalk is a huge part of LFW . . well it kinda wouldn’t be in existence without them . . but to me, I get a lot of styling inspo from the street style and lets face it, it’s generally a lot more wearable and current.
Before I start I’m just gonna put it out there, all of my street style imagery is from Collage Vintage. Any other street style posts pale in comparison to hers and I just love the roundups, they’re my go to. I did try to find other imagery but quite frankly, I didn’t like it.
The Big LFW Trend Roundup
LFW Trend : RED ALERT
The key colours of the season are pink, yellow and red. Street style wise, there was nothing I saw more of than red… it was everywhere! Not usually one for colour, I myself wore red on not one but two occasions and got so much love for it. Apparently red’s my colour. You’ll all know about my affinity for pink and believe me that ain’t going no where. This season I plan to go really crazy with colour and mix the two together! Possibly my favourite colour trend of the moment is pink and red together.

LFW Trend : RAFFIA
Basket bags have been popping up on the feeds of some of my favourite style bloggers like Lucy Williams and Adenorah for the last few months and it’s something I’ve definitely been taking in and keeping an eye on. However, another LFW trend I saw was Raffia bags. Same vibe but different. A bag usually associated with the beach was appearing on the fashion bunch in style . . alongside winter coats… what?! Surely I need one too right? This is definitely a trend I can get on board with as those bags are humongous and farely cheap.
I also saw some more structured bags combining woven, raffia effect within the style which made a nice in between if you’re not up for rocking up to work with a beach bag in tow. I’m particularly fond of this Loewe style!

LFW Trend : The Classic Trench
Now this is just a classic, not just a LFW trend but hey I was seeing them everywhere and it’s not something I myself have ever really worn and quite frankly, it’s my post and I’ll do what I want to! It came in all colours with all sorts of funky details but I have to say, there’s nothing that quite beats the standard beige trench. Though I have to say that check print one came pretty damn close!

LFW Trend : Prince of Wales Check
This print was everywhere which to be honest I’m pretty glad about because I am loving my prince of wales check coat. Particularly in coats, prince of wales check was rife! Check as a print in general was a really big hitter with the street style bunch, gingham included. I can see myself owning gingham everything come spring.

LFW Trend : Fancy Sleeves
Now I’m not just talking flared sleeves (though they were there too) I’m talking reaaaal fancy. Ties, gathering, cut out, lace up . . you name it, the sleeves had it. I’m pretty happy about this as someone who’s been collecting flared sleeves for the past 6 months . . long may it continue. I was really loving all of the gathering and ties on the sleeves which is definitely something I want to start adding to my fancy sleeve collection.
