The perfect Gucci Loafers.

Let me just start by saying that in my humble opinion, all Gucci loafers are pretty much perfect and I would be more than happy to own any pair. However, they are designer and therefore not something I can fill my shoe-drobe with so bearing in mind I’ve wanted a pair for going on 3 years now, the hunt for the perfect pair has been real.

The Quest for the Perfect Gucci Loafers

So when I say perfect pair I’m 100% talking about my perfect pair. For a long time I had in my head that these would be the classic black pair that are Gucci through and through, timeless wardrobe staples that I’ll be wearing when I’m 70 still. I actually bought some Topshop loafers that beared so much resemblence to the Gucci ones that genuinely people thought they were Gucci loafers. But do you know what? I didn’t wear them. There’s something about black shoes that remind me so much of my old school shoes and I just cannot shake that feeling.

So the plain black were out. I then debated the black slip ons but they weren’t that much different effect and feeling wise so I moved to the fur slip ons. Having previously owned a dupe of these I knew from experience the smell that brews after a dozen wears and trust me girls it ain’t pretty. Out the window. I then turned to these amazing pink velvet loafers, 100% they’d get trashed in the rain. Then one rainy day in Paris, I stumbled upon this pair I’d never seen before. They’re black but they don’t feel like school shoes because of the gold embroidered detail which BTW is the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen, so luxurious and pretty and actually perfectly matches my bag I got in the summer so it’d be rude not to right?!

But were they classic enough? Where they the perfect Gucci loafers? Yes and no. Do I know if I’ll still be wearing them when I’m 70? I hope so. Are they classic enough? I’d say so, the style is 100% not a part of their core collection and neither is my bag, but with these pieces I just love the detail so much I think they’re gorgeous items whether on trend or not I know I’ll still wear them. To me the combination of black and gold is so perfect! And when I walked into the store and saw these shoes, my heart leapt. To me you should never buy anything this expensive unless you get the feeling.

More Perfect Gucci Loafers I Now Need in My wardrobe

So obviously as with anything the minute you get one you then start to plot the other items you need in your wardrobe slash shoe-drobe so I thought I would share with you some of the other pairs online that I’m loving right now. I did actually see the velvet pair now comes in black and black and gold velvet is such a dream. Plus they also have the velvet now with the Gucci print which to me is so Hugh Hefner playboy mansion vibes and I kind of love them for that. Then of course there the pink leather fur trimed loafers which will forever be at the top of my wish list, smelly feet or no smelly feet, I need them.
