The moment I got this top I knew it was a keeper. There’s pieces that pass through your wardrobe like ships in the night then there’s the pieces that stick, I like to call them the basics. So seen as this cami is pretty much the British dictionary definition of monochrome, I thought I’d do some monochrome summer outfit ideas. It is supposed to be summertime after all, someone should probably give the weather man a little FYI.
Monochrome Summer Outfit Ideas
I could probably have done this as a 10 ways to wear or something because quite frankly, it’s a basic and also 100% not limited to summer, it just so happens to be summer right now. I always find monochrome is a little harder to work in the summer as often I feel a pull towards brighter, more playful colours with fun prints. But there’s definitely something to be said for a good monochrome outfit, any time of the year.
Monochrome Summer Outfit 1
When I first styled this look it felt so repetitive. I’ve been living in camis and denim skirts this summer, it’s 100% become my daily uniform, not a bad one I have to admit. However, coming back from the Caribbean (read all about my trip here) and looking at this with fresh eye’s I’m falling in love all over again. The black and white stripes with the block of white, broken up with the gold of the belt and my Chloe bag . . AKA the beauty. It’s an amazing combination of colours that brings this high street look up a level making it feel seriously luxe. Obviously I popped on my Supergas because . . duh. I actually had withdrawal symptoms this week, they wouldn’t fit in my suitcase!

Monochrome Summer Outfit 2
The cami/cardy combo . . you had to know it was coming right? And not just because it’s in the post preview image. I’m addicted to this combo, it’s my go-to look and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. This time I went tucked out with the top for that oversized I just threw this on vibe. The jeans are new, congrats if you spotted them! They were a super generous gift from Paige denim, not ordinarily what I’d have gone for but they look great with sandals and the rough, undone edges are so so perfect.
